The Value of Cub Scouts

Programs for Youth Kindergarten – 4th Grade

Cub Scout activities are centered around earning badges specific to their grade level. Cub Scout activities teach values consistent with good citizenship, character development, personal fitness, and leadership. The values we seek to instill are found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Trustworthy

Cub Scouting programs are designed to help teach youth the importance of being trustworthy. Teaching youth through hands-on adventures that a Scout tells the truth. A Scout is honest and keeps their promises. People can depend on them. These same principles are modeled by our trained program leaders who instruct the weekly meetings. As a parent you can trust that your Scout will be engaged in hands-on activities in a safe environment.

Helpful

Developing character isn’t something we just talk about – it’s something we do. Intentional programming including service projects, practicing citizenship and leadership opportunities are a key part of our Cub Scout programs. Our programs teach Cub Scouts that a Scout cares about other people, learning to volunteer to help others.

Friendly

Cub Scouts make new friends in their grade-based group “den”! Scouts learn to offer friendship to all and how to respect everyone. Learning to serve others and be a friend to all is integrated into each den’s program. Cub Scout programs give kids a chance to interact in fun, stress-free and collaborative environments. Memory making occurs weekly as kids share experiences, and laughter is sure to erupt during action-packed den meetings.

Brave

Cub Scouts experience new things! Cub Scouts are challenged to “do their best” as they build their self-confidence. Using hands-on activities, Cub Scouts learn new life skills such as outdoor skills, basic first-aid, physical fitness habits, and more. Tackling challenges is only part of the equation to becoming more confident. Opportunity and encouragement play major roles, too. That’s why our engaged program leaders inspire Cub Scouts to explore new adventures.

Safety

Knowing your Cub Scout is safe is crucial to your peace of mind and the cornerstone of our programs.
